What a country!

As a Twin Cities resident I had the great privilege of attending the RNC last night. Thanks to the Wisconsin delegation, I was able to spend 30 minutes on the floor. I was revved up for hours afterward.

No matter your party preference, the experience of attending a convention is something all US citizens should have. I have great respect for everyone involved, from the nominees all the way down to the precinct chairman attending as a delegate. Democracy and participation are things we should not take for granted.

I'm proud a citizen of the USA.

You don't think all the people cheering and waving their signs faithfully, on queue, looks kind of superficial?

As a foreign person living in the US find the whole thing fascinating to see adults cheering as if they're at their kids soccer game. It's almost as bad as Prime Ministers question time.

carl,

I think patriotism exists everywhere. The people I sat near at RNC were truly energized. I suppose it might have looked scripted to some, but most folks in attendance are the party faithful and they get fired up.

By the way, I don't think it's the RNC that just looks scripted, I feel the same emotions when I watched the DNC too.
