$70 PER YEAR - too expensive for most home users methinks. Certainly more than I would be prepared to pay.
Office 365 is a pretty complete cloud package. Check it out. I do find it interesting. For $100 a year you can use it on up to 5 computers.
$70 p.a. is too much? REALLY? Mobile app pricing has a lot to answer for…
I paid 88 Euro for a Home & Student version of Office from Amazon a couple of months ago.
It contains Word and Excel, which is all most private/home users need. Why should I pay nearly as much per year in future for software which certainly doesn't need to be replaced every 1-2 years? And I only have one Windows PC in the household, so the ability to use it on more than 1 PC would be useless for me.
I still think it is a lousy deal. And for a private household, in fact Libre Office or Open Office are perfectly acceptable free alternatives. Only if you need 100% compatibility to your employer's office software is MS Office perhaps a "requirement".
Huh, even the different Microsoft Office versions are not 100% compatible...
