iPad Air 2

The new iPad Air 2 appears to be pretty similar to the original iPad Air, but when you look closely, you will notice lots of differences. The SIM card slot went from the left to the right side, the plastic insert on the LTE model is a bit wider. The whole device is a bit thinner and technically a bit lighter, but you will not be able to tell the difference. The new iPad is also supposed to be way faster, but it's completely unnoticeable to me. Going from an iPad to an iPad Air is a huge change, going from Air to Air 2 is not.
For me it boils down to two major changes. One positive, the other negative.
On the upside, the new iPad Air 2 has the fingerprint sensor that was introduced in the iPhone 5S and continued into the 6 and 6 plus models. Finally you could secure your device without typing in the passcode umpteen times a day.
On the downside I am missing the switch in the upper right hand corner that let me quickly lock the screen orientation. I have used it quite often and I wish Apple had not removed it from the device.

Bin vom iPad 3 auf das iPad Air 2 umgestiegen!
Das Gerät ist super (schnell) und Touch ID möchte auch ich seit dem iPhone 5S
nicht mehr missen. Was mich etwas irritiert, ist das Vibrieren des Gehäuses durch die Lautsprecher. War dies bei der ersten Version auch schon zu spüren?
Ja, das ist ein Riesensprung. Das iPad 3 war ziemlich langsam und sehr schwer.
Christian, bei meinem iPad Air (1) tritt das nicht auf. Ich habe allerdings in fast jedem Review zum iPad Air 2 gelesen, dass das Gehäuse wohl etwas vibriert.
Mmh mmh, so langsam wird es Zeit. Mein iPad (1, das mit iOS 5) ist unbenutzbar langsam und instabil inzwischen.
