Yotaphone 2

Last week I received an invitation to fly to London for the Yotaphone 2 announcement. I didn't go, but I followed the news. The Yotaphone 2 is a very interesting device because it has two displays: an LCD at the front and an electronic paper display like a Kindle on the back. The back display is always on and it can display notifications. There are lots of customizations available. Beyond that you can also use the display to read books, Facebook updates, etc.
While it's interesting, I fail to see who would buy an Android phone for 699 €.

I also fail to see who would get a phone for that price. Don't get me wrong, I think Android is a great OS for Smartphones, but iOS is also nice and for that price you can get a nice iPhone. Or two nice Android phones.
Looks really cool. Really. Not cool enough to pay that kind of money, though...
UK price is ¢555. The Nexus 6 32GB is ¢499, 64GB is ¢549.

Sexy but indeed expensive.
It will certainly be a challenge for wallet / protective cover designers. If you don't get some kind of cover on it there is a 100% chance of damaging one of the screens. With current phone models there is only a 50% chance. :-)
@John that was also my first thought.
I really want this e-ink feature, but I'm afraid it will remain a niche gimmick unless there is a true 2nd screen API in Android to support this in the long run.
Also, @John is right. (My phone keeps falling down all the time, glad I bought a protective cover.)
The e-ink feature looks really very interesting and a lot more interactive than I would have imagined. Alas - I am an Apple lover, so not for me.
