LIFX Smart LED lights review and setup

Tags :

I dig into the LIFX Smart Led light system, where each bulb is wifi enabled and no hub is needed.  The complimentary mobile application gives you full controls over color, brightness, and tons of cool automated settings.

LIFX light system

I walk through LIFX setup of the individual bulb and mobile application plus discuss a few hurtles we had to overcome during initial setup. While the cost of LIFX seems to be higher than the kits for things like Phillips Hue system, each bulb acts independent with no hub making it easy to work with the bulb anywhere ant not worry about placing the hub.  I can see some people hesitate to invest into bunches of these.

TheLIFX bulb we look at is in the middle of their product line and gives you 16 million colors and 1000 shades of white with a maximum brightness of 1000 lumens. The perfect light for the space, time of day, and mood are just a touch away.  They also have a white base model and higher end color model as well.  The cost varies based upon which one you think would serve the purpose for a room or area.

I had to use the webpage to find the mobile app when on thye iPad but it was easily found on the Android and iPhone.  I blame the AppStore from Apple for that bit of work.  The application uses finger slide controls for brightness and color selection.  You can then group lights together, rename rooms and lights and more.  Make sure to check out extra apps that give you even more controls.

You can personalize just about every aspect of the Lifx lights. You can get more information or just get the Lifx lights at
