iGearPro 32GB micro USB to USB flash drive review

I had the luck to get the iGearPro 32GB flash drive that moves files between your smart device (micro USB) and the computer easily. Or just acts as a flash backup for your phone files.

This can be a life saver or a way to simply move files around. One of the issues we all face Is having tons of pics/videos/music on our (non iOS) devices here due to this being the micro USB version. It takes forever to sync things to whatever service where we have limited storage anyway. Then we also hate leaving our phone plugged into the computer for hours for it to copy them off. Enter this handy little device to solve those issues on the go.

Packaging for the  iGearPro 32GB Dual Purpose Flash Drive was simple as shown in the picture. The top of the container just flips open, no need to rip apart the cardboard. Each end of the device is capped to protect them. Also I took a picture next to a standard desk pen to give you a true idea of sizing.

First off we know this is going to be a slower copy speed than the newer USB 3.0 since the micro USB does not even know what that is. I copied 5GB of photos then 4GB of videos in tests. Both were under an hour and I let it copy away while I worked and used the phone. Had I hooked the phone to a computer to do this I would have been tethered and stuck.

The micro USB side of the  iGearPro 32GB Dual Purpose Flash Drive goes into your device and on all three I tested on it showed as an attached drive space. I was able to create folders, copy, delete and do anything I wanted right away. The same is true when I plugged the USB end into the computer. It was seen right away (Windows 7 and 10) and allowed me to do whatever was necessary.

Now the only downside I had was the end of the iGearPro was wider than the slot that my phone case allowed. See the picture. I had to take the case off for a few. Power cords and headphones never have that issue but that compact shape of this just had that problem. I really do not blame them since micro USB tips are fragile enough not to have it just sticking out there.
