Evernote wants your money

Beginning today, the prices for our Plus and Premium tiers will change for new subscriptions, and access from Evernote Basic accounts will be limited to two devices.
Evernote isn't doing so well. They need more revenue. So they want more money, and they are pushing harder. I was once an Evernote user, but I have since migrated to OneNote. I like it better.

I love Evernote and am happy to pay for it (unusual for me), but the features and support are worth the money, similar to Dropbox.
Both Dropbox and Evernote need customers, more than ever. Glad that you are pleased with them. It's probably a game they can't win against Apple, Google and Microsoft.
True, and when Google and Microsoft offer me a better product for free I will switch back
I have been using Evernote for many years now. However they stopped innovating in ways that matter to me a long time ago. I would really like the core to become better, e.g. tansparent syncing on iOS, fewer change conflicts, better performance for larger documents. But they add chat and other stuff instead.
Unfortunately I don't find any other product that does what I need. I meanwhile use OneNote as well, as it works better with a pen than Evernote does, but it is worse for me in most other aspects. So now I have to apps ;(
Also I agree, Evernote can't do it on their own. Microsoft and others can just bundle their stuff in more, let's say powerful, ways.
Really hope for somebody to come out with a good note taking app. Wondering why google isn't doing that. Access to their users thoughts?

Thanks to telekom I'm a premium user.
As a normal user I can now only use two devices. So after my premium period is over I'm gonna switch. Maybe to Apple Notes or to one note. But I won't pay for evernote.
Evernote does it right for my workflow: I scan(ned) all my documents as pdf and store them there. With full text search as a premium user I find everything I need instead of digging through piles of dust and dead wood in the old days. And this works fine on mobile and desktop.
I see no alternatives for my use case out there. Does OneNote provide this feature?
So I guess I need to stay and pay the higher price which - initially - shall be no problem and I will continue to do so. But what happens if Evernote can't make enough money and goes out of business ...
Yes, OneNote does. Take a look at OfficeLens which works with OneDrive as well as OneNote.
What will happen with Evernote? Somebody will buy them.
I switched from Evernote to Apple Notes a few weeks ago. Probably the right decision.
I would love to know what people like about Evernote (minus being cross-platform) over OneNote. I have been a long term evernote user, but onenote with Office2016 has surpassed Evernote in almost every way, including the integration features like IFTTT and the pen. Scanning works great, with Office Lens as Volker mentioned, except for dedicated scanning hardware that goes straight to Evernote. One of my only holdouts is the Evernote biz card scanning, which OneNote does not have ... but maybe MS buying LinkedIN will fix that.
@John: Office Lens does offer business card scanning: https://blogs.office.com/2014/12/08/office-lens-gets-networking-scan-business-cards-onenote-contacts-outlook/. From Office Lens you can export the scanned business cards and contact information to OneNote. Does that fit your needs?
@Adbelkader - does it pull data from Linkedin automatically, allow for an instant connection on LI, and add a contact to the phone? Evernote does all that.
I am guessing the LI stuff will come with the aquisition, but the phone contact creation with a single click is critcal for me.
