Stuff that works :: Olloclip Active Lens

This is one of my favorite things. Olliclip makes many lenses for iPhone, but this is by far my favorite. When I travel, it just wear it around my neck. When I am shooting photos with the iPhone, I can grap the lens with my other hand and remove it from the lanyard.
The Active Lens has two lenses: a 2x telephoto and an ultra-wide lens. And they work on both cameras, main camera (iSight) and front facing (FaceTime). You will hardly ever need the telephoto on the front facing camera, but it'S great to get closer to the action if you can't walk there.
The wide angle however is very versatile. I use it to shoot large buildings where I can't walk back far enough and indoors to capture a wider field of view. All of the Sonos 101 photos were shot with the ulta-wide.
And occasionally I use it on the front facing camera to shoot a selfie like this one. The lens holder is still around my neck:
The lens distortion of the wide-angle can be used on purpose. On this photo I look way thinner than I actually am.

Great picture at the Oculus. Check out the High Line while you are in he city. I am sure you will get an interesting snapshot there as well.
I have stayed at The Standard on the High Line a few years ago. It's a great place but it does not really compare to the Oolloclipculus.

I saw them at an Apple Store and the guy there told me that they would not work with a case - but you are using a case... Any known limitations?
Yes, and no. No, they don't work with cases. But they work with the Olloclip cases which are actually pretty good. There is a light one which feels like a bumper with a transparent back. And then there is a bigger case which lets you attach other accessories. Check out their website.
It seems like you prefer the Active over the 4-IN-1 now. Any particular reason?
Which one would probably deliver the better WAF (W taking holiday shots mostly)?
Active Lens was not available when I got 4-in-1. Active Lens is 2x-Tele + Ultrawide. 4-in-1 is Wide + FishEye + 2 Makros.
Both not recommended for W. They don't fit over any case but the Olloclip cases. And you need some skills for good results.
