Tell me your Android patch level

I believe in collaboration. So let's put our heads together. I have created a Google form where you can help me gather data about Android security patch levels. The patch levels have a date attached to them. You find it in Settings/About. Also add the brand and model of your device and the Android version. If you know on which day the patch was available, also fill out the last data, which is not mandatory.

Here is the form >

Green means you have the latest full security patch 5-Jul-2016. Black means you have the smaller, easier patch 1-Jul-2016. Red means: good luck.

Habe mich schon gewundert.

The Redmi Note 3 Pro device seems to be future proof patched, as I see it in the overview.

That is a Beta.

Row 100 should be "5.1.x", not "Other". Not sure how I did that.
In keeping with how others entered it, "S5" should be "Galaxy S5".

Interesting to see the OnePlus 3 one month behind, being OnePlus' latest flagship device.

Stefan Funke, 2016-07-25

Heiko, next Monday there will be a new Android patch and all this data becomes stale. We can do a new one then.

Great initiative, vowe. Thank you so much!

Interestingly, I just did a factory reset of my Nexus 5 to prepare it for handover to the next user and despite the fact that it performs a check for updates in that process, it only came back with patch level June 2016...

Ragnar Schierholz, 2016-07-26

And just out of curiosity, wouldn't it make sense to register Nexus devices under the brand Nexus rather than their respective manufacturer? After all the firmware updates come from Google, nit the device manufacturer, right? Thus e.g. LG's average patching performance according to this survey is skewed because of their Nexus devices...

Ragnar Schierholz, 2016-07-26

Guter Einwand.

Volker Weber, 2016-07-26

Expecting that Huawei P8 wouldn't be in the upper 50% of the most recently patched devices I was wondering that Sony Xperia Z Ultra is up-to-date. (Well Z Ultra is a pretty new mobile).

Compared to Sony devices from same production time (e.g. Sony Z5 Compact) I assume that those Sony devices are also left behind a bit.

Do the Sony owners confirm this or are Sony mobiles which are approx. 1-2 years old still with good and quick support of major Android updates / patch levels ?

Cheers,
Eric

Are we collecting data for the August patch level now with the same form?

Ragnar Schierholz, 2016-08-04

Why not? They are date stamped.
