Don't break the chain :: one and a half years

One and a half years later I am still doing 600 kcal a day, 30 minutes of exercise and 12 hours of standing up. I missed one day by 3 kcal on the Move goal. That is why the move goal only shows 78 instead of 79 weeks. How Apple gets to 126 perfect weeks from that, I have no idea.

This program has worked out very well for me. I am stronger, thinner and lighter. No Touch Bar though.

Good for you. I tried and failed. Pencilpusher jobs just don't make it easy.

I needed a while to get the touchbar joke though. Seems, I am still altitude slow this morning. No that I get it I can't stop grinning though. ;)

Go again. If you exercise every day and eat well, you will not fail.

You have to admit that once you can schedule your day quite freely and work from home, especially the healthy part and the excersise part is easier to integrate in your every day life.
There is still quite a big presence culture in german offices. Especially when you are an external consultant.

However, I did good lately with checking on my food to be healthier.

Scheduling is easier, but that was never my problem. I was lacking motivation. You need to kick things up on your to do list. Exercise instead of slouching while surfing the Internets.

What are "kcals"? Mine is set to simply 600 Calories.

Bruce Elgort, 2016-12-05

You don't live on the metric system. Kcal are 1000 calories. One calorie is the energy needed to raise the temperature of 1 gram of water through 1 °C. Calorie is an old unit. The ISO unit is joule.

But Americans have found a way to confuse you even more. Instead of writing kcal for a 1000 cal, they write Cal with a capital C which is the equivalent of 1000 cal. So you have set your watch to 600 kcal, or 600,000 cal, or 600 Cal.

I am still full of awe for you, Vowe!
Recently I bought a Garmin Forerunner for my running, but actually I am wearing it all day and it counts steps, too.
10k steps is quite a lot, and I only manage it when I go for a run - on a regular day I barely reach 6k.

Regards
Mike

P.S. I will not buy a dog :-D

The trick is to walk EVERYWHERE. "I can't walk to the super market, because I would have to carry too much". No, you walk there more often so you have to carry less.

Volker Weber, 2016-12-06

I bicylcle to the super market ;-)

Mike Hartmann, 2016-12-06

Impressive.

you walk to the super market every day? That's your exercise to get 600 kcal?

Sounds expensive to me. ;-)

Sebastian Klossek, 2016-12-07

No, I walk the dog every day. That's free. And supermarket produce is very cheap compared to convenience food.
