The emails, received by you and your colleagues each day, cause your storage space to overflow. Besides a shortage in storage capacity, the backups of you Lotus Notes environment becomes incontrollable. While 90 percent of the email data in the mail files is hardly used.
The solution
The Lialis email archiving solution archives the emails in your environment as you demand. Once configured, the selection of the emails to be archived runs automatically. You can determine which emails will be archived by the solution, for example emails older than 100 days.
How does the solution work?
The archived emails turn up on the normal Lotus Domino-server, on which the Lialis archive solution is installed. This central email archiving solution manage the entire archiving process. The main advantage of the Lialis solution is that employees have access to their archived email messages as easy as before, while the emails remain visible in their mail file folders. Via a link there is an invisible connection between the mail file and the archive database.
The archive solution has an special search functionality. This functionality searches both archived and not archived email messages. Therefore users don’t notice what happens in the background. The solution can be used for both personal as general email databases.
In practice
How does the Lialis email archiving solution functions in practice? As reference we have a architectural firm which is specialised in road and water engineering. The firm has 1.600 email databases and a total email storage of 750 GB. The Lialis email archiving solution is used to regulate transfer 500GB to the archive server, which is two-third of all the mail files.
Lialis implemented the archive solution in two days, after which the archive was processed automatically. The successful realisation of the project only cost two months. The firm didn’t have to extend their SAN with extra storage capacity. Besides the full backup window of the production environment is shortened with 150 percent and there is free SAN storage capacity available for growth in the future. The firm experiences the sophisticated search functionality as very functional. The flexibility of the archiving solution also demands the customer requests.
In this reference Lialis performed the entire project, but it is also possible to limit the Lialis interference till the implementation. Lialis is available for you for each project.
License costs
The license price is determined by the volume of databases to be archived: mail files and/or applications, and not by the volume of users in your organization.
+ Licenseprice per database, per year. The price includes maintenance and support for the first year. Maintenance is optional at 20% of the total price for subsequent years, and includes new releases, bug fixes and support.
+ Licenceprice per database, per month. The monthly prices includes all maintenance (new releases, bug fixes and support) fees.
+ Enterprise licence, one fixed price and there is no limit to the total amount of databases to be archived. The price includes maintenance and support for the first year. Maintenance is optional at 20% of the total price for subsequent years, and includes new releases, bug fixes and support.
