Restoring file share access

Apple fixed the embarrassing root/nopassword bug in record time. However, if you cannot access your file shares anymore, just run this command in Terminal, and you should be good to go. The password it is asking for is your login password.

sudo /usr/libexec/configureLocalKDC

Apple provided a revised security update which also fixes this.

Security everywhere. I finally upgraded to High Sierra and found out that 'ftp' and 'telnet' are missing. Of course I googled it, only to see tons of people lecturing everyone that this is a good thing and only 'xxx' would use those anymore and many other interesting comments. Wow, security everywhere, even in the Apple Developer forums.
Well, I knew I had to re- do macports anyway so just did and installed inetutils, so fine with me. And I do use telnet and depend on it, FWIW, and I know what I am doing[tm]. :-)
(Your post just reminded me of 'Security' - hence this comment.)
