Marshall updates the Major

I thought Marshall would give up on their classic design. But here they are, the Major III, both in Bluetooth and cable variants. The only trouble is that these are brand new and do not enjoy the discounts that will come later. The Marshall Mid Bluetooth is supposed to be 50 € more expensive than the Major III, but it isn't. It's actually almost 40 € cheaper. My favorite pick is the Marshall Monitor Bluetooth, 20 € cheaper than the Major III.
Major III and Mid are on-ear, Monitor is over-ear. Mid and Monitor enjoy the sturdy steel headband, Major has somewhat lighter wireframe. I do not recommend the older Majors, even at a discount, since the plastic hinge is prone to breakage.
Oh, and they are all really loud and run for 30 hours on a single charge.

Habe den Mid seit einiger Zeit, bin immer noch begeistert. Toller Kopfhörer, wenn man rein passt (Hoher Anpressdruck). Ich passe rein.
Was mich interessiert, wie ist der Tragekomfort (bei großen Köpfen) und wie sieht es mit Abnutzung aus?

Der Tragekomfort hängt davon ab, ob Du eine Brille trägst und wie dick die Bügel sind. Alle Marshall Headsets haben einen ziemlich strammen Sitz. Beim Monitor stört mich das nicht, weil die Kissen auf dem Schädel und nicht auf den Ohren sitzen. Bei den anderen beiden drückt das halt auf die Ohren und klemmt die zwischen Brille und Kopfhörer ein.
Der Monitor ist für mich ziemlich gut. Kompakt, laut (LED ZEPPELIN!), stabil. Klassik wollte ich damit nicht hören, aber wenn es auf Druck ankommt, sind die genau richtig. Ich trage im Augenblick for allem den Plantronics 8200, weil der halt am meisten kann und auch ziemlich bequem ist.
Verschleiß kann ich nicht beurteilen. Ich habe zu viele Headsets, als dass ich die irgendwie verschleißen könnte. Muss ja auch noch Sonos hören. :-) Aber das Vinyl ist schon ziemlich strapazierfähig.
@Kai: Also für den MID, der Tragekomfort ist gut, habe aber keine Riesenbirne. Durch OnEar nach 3-4 Stunden warme Ohren. Abnutzung nicht feststellbar, grundsolide. Und ja, ordentliche 11.

Für feine Musik habe ich nen AKG, ich suche quasi nen Ersatz für den MDR-V700 von Sony und dachte bis jetzt an Beyerdynamik. Der Marshall sieht interessant aus.

Ok, den Sony MDR-V700 habe ich auch und verstehe jetzt Deine Fragen besser.
1. Bei mir haben sich die "weichen Elemente des V700 zersetzt. Die Ohrkissen habe ich durch Frotteeversionen ersetzt. Nur für den Bügel habe ich nicht auf Anhieb eine Lösung gefunden. https://vowe.net/archives/014359.html
2. Der Monitor fühlt sich ähnlich wie der V700 auf dem Kopf an, ist aber weniger voluminös. Die Ohrmuschen sind nicht rund, sondern oval. Wenn Deine Ohrwascherl in den V700 reinpassen, dann passt der Monitor auch.
3. Der Monitor taugt nicht so sehr als DJ-Kopfhörer, weil man ihn schlecht "schief" aufsetzen kann. Vom Klang her ist er ähnlich.

Das DJing habe ich vor nun fast 20 Jahren aufgegeben, aber der Druckvolle Sound der entsprechenden Kopfhörer gefällt mir noch immer.
I really wanted to like the Marshall Bluetooth Monitor, ordered it after reading your recommendation. Besides beautiful build of headphone and cables and super convenient brass knob, two things nag me: it can go loud, but not overly so. It’s ok, sound is great. But I would not say these go to eleven.
The other annoyance got me reaching out to customer care and even get a replacement set - which sadly has the same flaw: when connecting through Bluetooth, a soft high whining noise appears in its right ear. Sure, as their customer care points out, that sound gets washed away when you play music. But guys, this is a *monitor* one that adds a noise. My beatsX doesn’t have this, but then again that fills ever too quickly with eargrease thanks to its in ear construction.
Given my two use cases are: drumming along to music on an accoustic kit, where volume is needed, and listening to music in utter silence in bed, both make me wonder if I bought the right headset. Marshall customer care shrug and “will forward my views to their product team”.
I get it. 90% or so of the older folks listening to them wouldn’t hear the whining of a CRT TV set, the good old Dolby C high pitched side effect on music cassettes, or - sighs - like me even the high pitched whining of electronics in my router that has no moving parts. So my conclusion is that marshall makes these high quality monitors for people with mediocre hearing? Perhaps the other bluetooth versions lack this issue. I don’t know. Given Volker has never mentioned it, I am guessing his auditive range stops lower.
I hear a constant sound ringing in my ears due to loud concerts (Kim Wilde in a tiny cinema hall), so prefer not to add to that when listening to music.
Weird. I run the Marshalls at 30% volume and occasionally at 50%. I would never ever crank them up to 100%. How do you drive them? From an iPhone? If not there might be another volume throttle.
I have a light Tinnitus myself. The Marshalls don't bother me at all. If You are lookng for studio headsets, Beyerdynamic might fit the bill better.

Went for Sennheiser Momentum 2, Bluetooth and active noise cancelling. Absolutely love the sound on them; mind blowing separation and fidelity of sound. Even at low volumes I’m hearing a sound stage and details that frankly are new to me. Plus, no hiss.
