Cleaning up your disk with Windows 10 Storage Sense

When I recently took a screenshot of Disk Cleanup, I thought this looks like Windows 7 and not like Windows 10. Amy stepped in and told us about Storage Sense. Here is a great article explaining what it's all about and why Disk Cleanup still exists:

The Disk Cleanup experience (“cleanmgr.exe”) is being deprecated. We’re retaining the Disk Cleanup tool for compatibility reasons. There’s no need to worry since Storage Sense’s functionality is a superset of what the legacy Disk Cleanup provides!

You have to turn on Storage Sense manually. And then you can forget it. It is going to delete junk from your disk automatically. But there is a lot more you can configure yourself. Read the article! It gets really interesting when you bring Storage Sense and OneDrive together. If you have an O365 subscription, you get a Terabyte of storage. That is 1000 GB. If your computer only has an 128 GB disk, you still have access to all of those 1000 GB of files, while OneDrive and Storage Sense make sure you have the files you need on your local disk.
