Ute also tried today. 24 flights climbed! And a 1 km outdoor run? That was auto-discovered while taking out the dog first thing in the morning.

Did you make the first week?

Yes!

Armin Auth, 2019-01-06

Yes! But I think the Apple Watch 4 is counting faster than the series 1.

Guido Küster, 2019-01-06

Yep!

Jan Timm, 2019-01-06

Yes. But there is still some holiday-related excess belly that I carry around with me during exercise...

Andreas Busch, 2019-01-06

Yes!

Joerg Richter, 2019-01-06

Yes! :)

Jep. Keine Männergrippe.

Ingo Erdmann, 2019-01-06

Leider Montag verpasst, weil ich schlicht zu blöd war. Dienstag gestartet, also am 1.1.

Markus Kriesten, 2019-01-06

Yes, started well also. But what is Ute’s secret to using the autodetection of workouts? This persistently fails on me. Very rarely does it detect anything, if so, it usually rather late (about 5 minutes into the activity) and I have to actually confirm that the detection is correct and the workout should be recorded. Especially in the current weather conditions, where the watch is under two or three layers of sleeves, this is not really practical, let alone user-friendly. Does that get better over time if the watch learns? Do I need to change a setting somewhere?

Yes!
not on Apple Watch though, but on Stepz for iOS - another one of your great recommendations Volker.

Your posts are a great motivation! Thank you!

Axel Borschbach, 2019-01-07

Ragnar, no secrets. Everything is set to default. She was surprised the watch did that.

Volker Weber, 2019-01-07

Does the autodetect actually start the workout for her or does she tap to confirm the detection and start recording?

Ragnar Schierholz , 2019-01-07

Ja, hat geklappt.

Thomas Felsch, 2019-01-07

Ragnar, everything on default, as documented: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204523

Detlev Poettgen, 2019-01-07

Natürlich. Gelernt ist gelernt.

Sven Richert , 2019-01-07

I’m here, finally. While on the subject, have you seen whitings announcements at CES?

Vitor Pereira, 2019-01-08

Yes, I did. What did you find notable?

Volker Weber, 2019-01-08

Only the “ECG” stuff, which you probably already knew about?

Vitor Pereira, 2019-01-08

Yes, I did. I tested a Withings watch in the past, and it wasn't enough to earn the space on my wrist. I do like the blood pressure monitor and the scales.

Volker Weber, 2019-01-08

Yes, I have a scale, bp monitor and a steel (not HR). Did you test the new withings watch with ECG? I know what you mean by not earning space on your wrist, you need more from it than I do. I like the simplicity and the so far 14 month battery.

Vitor Pereira, 2019-01-08

Wow. 14 month - that's fantastic. No, I did not have a chance to look at it, and probably won't. Ever since Apple Watch I have given up on the other watches and trackers.

Volker Weber, 2019-01-08

gestern Tag 400 erreicht.
