Yoga C930 und die neuen ThinkPad X1

Es passiert nicht häufig, dass mich eine neue Hardware auf Anhieb begeistert, aber das Yoga C930 hat mir von Anfang an gut gefallen. Ein schlankes und dennoch solides Aluminium-Gehäuse, eher eckig und kühl. Dabei stimmt die technische Ausstattung mit Thunderbolt 3/Type C und USB 3.1/Type A.
Nun kündigt Lenovo ein neues ThinkPad X1 Yoga für Mitte des Jahres an, das ebenfalls aus Alu ist. Bislang hatte Lenovo die ThinkPad Reihe stets in Kunststoff gekleidet. Der "normale" Laptop ThinkPad X1 Carbon behält das Kunststoffgehäuse, aber X1 Yoga wird wie Yoga C930 aufgebaut. Betrachtet man beide nebeneinander, dann hat das C930 das elegantere Aussehen, aber das X1 Yoga hat mehr Ports eingebaut, etwa HDMI -- gut für PowerPoint. Dazu gibt es die ThinkPad Tastatur und den TrackPoint. Wie beim aktuellen X1 Yoga ist der in einem Silo steckende Stift leichter zu greifen als beim C930.

Thanks for the link. Having played and sometimes worked with different generations of the X1 Carbon over the last years, the just announced one will mark my departure from the Macbook Pro universe after nearly 15 faithful years. The last X1 I tested had very good battery life (was always a reason to stay with Macs), has an excellent keyboard, is slim and integrates LTE. Most of the software I use exists for Win and Mac, and I expect that I can cope with Win10. It's decently priced and will do all the stuff I cannot do with the iPad, with which I do most of my work. I am still happy with my 1st gen iPad Pro, and do not aim at replacing it ahead of the next cycle. I only need to find an alternative for FCPX, but perhaps Premiere or Resolve can do the trick, most likely with an eGPU.

Weiss nicht, ob der iPad mit meinen 6 TB 4k 10bit Material aus dem letzten "Projekt" zurecht kommt. Das geht auch auf stärkeren Maschinen nicht ohne Proxy-Workflow. Cloudlösungen gibt es dafür auch noch keine gangbaren, und darüber bin ich auch sehr froh.
Looking at Apples price policy and Lenovo's history being a solid platform for a Hackintosh, I wait for the first reports of successful installation reports... :-)
Was willst Du mit einem Yoga und macOS? Mal abgesehen davon, dass die Software illegal ist, macOS kein Touch kann und wahrscheinlich die Hälfte gar nicht geht oder nur mit hohem Stromverbrauch?
