Good stuff - but I think that his no.5 contradicts his no.1.
It is precisely our problem, that ignoring climate change over the course of decades has ensured it will not be an irrelevant issue for us - if we'd tried to fix the problem when it first became evident, then indeed it might have faded into the distance by now.

It does not, Nick. Climate change will become irrelevant at some point, the question is: who or what life forms will be present at that point in the far distant future...
