I left Facebook under two years ago, but I remained trapped in Zuck’s hell on earth. Instagram and Whatsapp had a major control on me for some stupid reasons. No more. I disagree with the company, and its leaders so much that I won’t spend any of my attention or energy on its platforms.
As I told you, you have to act on principle:
While you are at it, get off Instagram, and use something other than WhatsApp. Otherwise, you are just endorsing Zuck’s way of doing business - and it is a dirty business.
Grow a spine, even when it seems difficult. Especially, if it seems difficult.

I'm totally off Facebook now. After being a passive user since two years (?). Instagram will follow (when I find my credentials). Om is right, Volker is right. If I would be a better person, I would delete WhatsApp immediately as well. I still struggle as explained in the other thread.
Tried that, failed. WhatsApp is so important today in private areas. Made a mail group for my youth training group to push infos out. Not only the teenager asked me to use WhatApp instead, also the parets of the kids without phone. No way to introduce an alternative. FB is different story. But dumping WhatsApp means cutting other off the team.
