Today, i installed a WIFI network on every floor in my house. The SSID is the same for every AP, and devices are automatically switched over to the strongest AP they can find.

Unfortunately, one of the AP’s doesn’t work well. It’s signal is strong, but the connection to my router is bad. All others have a download (internetspeed) of 100MB, but this one just 30. I reinstalled it, rechecked it, but cannot find anything wrong in it. I moved this badly AP to the top floor until the new one arrives.

For some reason, all laptops are connecting to the broken AP. In Windows 10, you cannot connect to a certain AP, in Linux you can. Why is Windows 10 connecting to this one? What to do next?

I found a great tool, freeware, that can do the trick: https://www.netsetman.com/en/freeware

Just Select WIFI and choose the correct AP, based on it’s MACAddress, and voila. Your are connected to the AP of your choice.

Beside your WIFI settings, it can do so much more. You have to see for yourself.
