Before We Get Started…

We’d like to remind all panagenda customers, MarvelClient Essentials users, and Nomad Web users to run Online Update to get the latest DLLs and templates, as well as an updated license. There are a few things in there that you’ll need to make sure you get all the great features we talk about below.

HCL Nomad Web 1.0.2 — with MarvelClient Web Migration

HCL Nomad Web allows you to run a Notes client in your Chrome, Edge, or Firefox browser with no install needed. You literally just go to a specific URL (admin setup required) and all the Notes components will be loaded in your browser automatically, showing you a familiar workspace. It works just like the HCL Notes client you’ve been using for years.

One of the things that can really ease the transition for your users is the MarvelClient Nomad Web Migration functionality that’s new in Nomad Web 1.0.2. This is really cool stuff, here’s how it works:

If you’re a MarvelClient user — Essentials or licensed — and you are backing up your desktop client data to a central MarvelClient Analyze database, you can create a Web Migration action that will automatically copy all your workspace icons and settings to Nomad Web the very first time you use the Nomad Web client.

Want to learn how to set it up? Read the documentation… and don’t forget: run OnlineUpdate first!

HCL Notes 12.0.1 — with the panagenda Document Properties Plugin

HCL Notes/Domino 12.0.1 was just released too, and it’s got some great new features, especially for the rock-solid Domino server. If you want to learn more, check out HCL’s Domino 12 Upgrade Guide for plenty of information.

We at panagenda are especially excited about the Notes 12.0.1 client. Once again, it comes bundled with the very latest version of MarvelClient Essentials. As always, upgrading Essentials comes free when you upgrade your client (and of course we’d be happy to help you upgrade).

But another great little surprise you’ll find with Notes 12.0.1 is the panagenda Document Properties plugin, built right into the client!

It’s an alternative to the old, small Notes client InfoBox that we all have grown to love and hate. You can now right-click and choose Advanced Properties — Document Properties to get a brand new, resizable, completely restyled dialog box. It shows you all the fields and information about a document in a sortable, searchable, easy to read format.

We’ve also got another little surprise on the way, to help you with your Notes 12.0.1 client icons… but that will be the subject of another blog entry coming soon!
