Major spoiler for Avengers: Endgame, and minor spoilers for Spiderman: Far From Home [2019]

Before we talk about technology, here's some spoilers for movies that have made more money than the GDP of some of the countries on this planet:

1. Tony Stark died in Avengers: Endgame

3. E.D.I.T.H. stands for Even Dead, I'm The Hero.

Sitting in the theatre with my kids, I thought it was a funny reveal and completely inline with the character.

Today however, something occured to me...

Notes/Domino has been dead for as long as I can remember. Yet I have been using it as my primary development platform, and building countless business critical solutions with it in some capacity over the years.

Y'know, Domino being a dead enterprise business solutions platform.

I know companies that have moved off of the Lotus Notes Client for email and calendaring, and their users beg for their Notes apps to be "migrated to GMail" like some of their others apps. In almost all of those cases, those users don't realize that those "migrated to GMail" apps are running on Domino (specifically XPages) and not on GSuite.

Y'know, XPages being a dead feature of a dead enterprise business solutions platform.

This is normally where I'd do something like "announce a Project EDITH" where I would - with the very best of intentions - break down an idea for a development project that I would promise but invariably abandon due to [my perceived] lack of interest.

In fact, I'd love to have EDITH be the 5 template "killer apps". I'd build out a core common template and then - using that template as a design master template - create the individual 5 templates. Done properly, it would allow me to rapidly [relatively speaking] build out those killer apps and evolve them to address individual use cases: the design master > Request Management > a Helpdesk app. 

But I'm too busy to take on a project like that and do my day job. I'm building XPages apps that run on Domino, that integrate with other technology investments like Microsoft SQL and various SaaS solutions. Building apps that run the day to day operations.

Y'know, using dead tech.

Domino, the original E.D.I.T.H.
