planetlotus.org/downloads, is a community based catalog of Lotus related downloads, widgets, session slides, example databases, third party products, whitepapers, your product, utilities, the files from your blog navigator… anything. It works in the spirit of download.com, shareware.com or tucows.com; and makes file downloads easy to track down and use.  Downloads will not be stored on this site, planetlotus.org/downloads will house all of the downloads description information, title, url, brief desc. and detailed description. Each submission will be given a specialized URL, (e.g., http://planetlotus.org/download/axceler-serveradmin-plus ). The URL works just like those on the planetlotus.org front page, any click or download, from any web page, will be logged towards the downloads click total.

Other features will include tag clouds, search, commenting, favorites, contributor galleries, and download blog widgets, all in the works…

Take a look! http://planetlotus.org/downloads

To get started adding your download(s)…

* To start, make sure you only add downloads that are either yours or that you are a point person for. This will make management of the meta that much easier.

** Abuse of the click counting feature will lead to removal of item, possibly your account.

Suggestion: Some kind of indicator if it is a commercial product or if it is free.

I was debating this from the start, all the big sites have all different categories for free, shareware, commercial, etc. Either way, good idea, as more people add stuff that will get more and more important.
