The ND9 Beta Forum looks fantastic

The forum is located here --> http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/ndsebetaforum.nsf/allDocuments.xsp and it looks great. This is what a modern UI should look like.

I wonder if we can get our hands on this sort of template ?

New Business Partner BlazinglyObvious to release xPages Connections clone.
Mon, Mar 31st 2014 7:05p   Adam Osborne
New business partner "BlazinglyObvious", located in McMurdo Antarctica has decided to release Domino xPages applications that are functionally identical to IBM's Connections product. During the product announcement their CEO, Captain Obvious said "We've spoken to numerous Connections customers and they've told us that they're having trouble installing the product. Apparently the process of downloading 10's of GBs of files, patches and cumulative updates for multiple disparate products, [read] Keywords: admin connections domino ibm notes xpages application applications server

We made it into Connect 2014 and didn't even know !
Thu, Jan 30th 2014 6:02p   Adam Osborne
I've been reviewing different bits and pieces from Connect and noticed that in John Paganetti's excellent presentation "ID104 - Best Practices for Upgrading IBM Notes and Domino 9.x" our work got a mention on page 42. I'm really proud of the work we've done in this area and it's great to have IBM recognized our efforts and research in this space. Thanks again John. [read] Keywords: domino ibm notes

Can anyone at Connect let us know ? Remember this: ORLANDO, FL LOTUSPHERE - 18 Jan 2010: Today IBM (NYSE: IBM) unveiled IBM Project Vulcan, a blueprint for the future of collaboration. Building on a company's existing investments, IBM Project Vulcan enables breakthrough approaches to reduce personal information overload and improve business agility, empowering people to drive better business results. IBM Project Vulcan is designed to exploit the convergence of: Cloud and on-premise syst [read] Keywords: collaboration ibm lotusphere applications mobile

Has anyone else noticed the information vacuum on Notes and Domino created by Ed's departure a year ago ?

I think it goes to show what a fantastic job Ed did in 'keeping the dream' alive, because it sure has been a very very quite 6 months. Connect is next week, maybe IBM will ship Hawthorne. It would of made a difference last year and surely stopped numerous Domino downgrades. Last year I witnessed the attempted extermination of over 400 Domino servers - strangely most of those customers are still in a world of pain, all had massive budget blowouts, all continued on their jihad irrespectively. IBM Santa, may we please have Project Hawthorn for Christmas ?
Wed, Dec 4th 2013 4:02p   Adam Osborne
Zero news on this potentially game changing feature since it was announce three months back. I really hope IBM ships it at Connect-o-sphere. This year we've seem more customers move over to Exchange. Many have been trying for 2+ years. Four of the bigger sites have become complete train wrecks, typical of this type of de-collaboration project. I've never actually seen one workout as per the script. If Hawthorn was available I believe it would of been near impossible for the Exchange jihadist [read] Keywords: collaboration ibm exchange exchange

Why would IBM choose to kill off the Web Admin Client rather than fix it ?
Tue, Nov 26th 2013 7:02p   Adam Osborne
I've been doing a lot of work in Exchange 2013 lately and Microsoft have made it pretty clear that the web is the future. Now the Domino Web Admin client is a bit clunky, but seriously it is very functional and light years ahead of its time (when it was first released). So, rather than fix a security issue in it, IBM has chosen to kill it off. I find that at complete odds with what I'd like them to do. Anyone got a clue as to why they chose this way forward ? Fragmentation is affecting my Domino server performance?.......I just don't see it!
Thu, Sep 26th 2013 5:22p   Adam Osborne
Really? If something IS broken then it really does need to be fixed, especially when the affected items are at the very core of everything else that needs to be done, like I/O on Domino. Sometimes the tricky part is recognising when something is broken and can be improved significantly and this can be a real problem with Domino because it's so resilient it can be very broken and keep plugging along although at a much reduced potential. The good news is we have released a new FREE Defrag Healt [read] Keywords: domino integration server
