The German company Bosch deploys IBM Connections for its 300,000 employees. Bosch is producing electric components for the automobile industry.
“With IBM Connections, IBM doesn’t just offer a powerful platform,” said Josef Maichle, vice president corporate information systems at Bosch to automotiveit.com. “Based on its experience in the area of social business, the company has also positioned itself as a trustworthy partner for the changeover.”
Selection criteria for Bosch were functional areas of coverage, intuitive operation and the possibility to introduce the new software without having to make major changes to existing systems, according to automotiveit.com.

Steve Ballmer leaves the Microsoft board and has started teaching

According to Ballmer he has “become very busy” over the last six months as he has purchased LA Clipper basketball team, focused on civic contributions, started teaching and taken up studies. To continue serving at the Microsoft board would be “impractical” as he formulates it.
