Strange problem, simple workaround
Issue:
Had a strange issue today, when Domino 8.0.2 would not install on two VMWare servers. It seemed that the setup database wasn't copied along with the other files, so when the server finally started for the first time, no setup was available.
Workaround:
Installed Domino 7.0.3, did the initial setup there, and then installed 8.0.2 on top.
Strange, though.

It is Friday evening at Dolphin. Most of the others left yesterday, but there is still a few yellow and black backpacks around. My back hurts, and the time difference makes my head a bit woozy, otherwise I'm fine. Left Bergen, Norway around 08:00 CET yesterday, and flew to Orlando via Oslo and Frankfurt. A few weeks ago we did some pre-studies on TCO for MS Exchange 2007 vs. Lotus Notes 8.5.1. Just two weeks after the "IBM Software Day" we got an invitation to "IBM Beta Day" in Oslo. Didn't think that IBM did things like that, it was definitively a nice surprise. I cannot actually write about what I saw and tested, just that among other things we looked at the newly released Notes 8.5.1, an early beta of the next Quickr release, and some Sametime and Mashup stuff.
