How Google Killed Old Yeller!

At one point, I started referring to it as Old Yeller (could not resist the dead dog/yellow reference - sorry). After doing a lot of upgrades (to IHS/WAS/Connections), DB troubleshooting, completely deleting the DB (which has since been restored), enabling advanced Windows logging (which did not help much), even moving to a fresh VM with a clean install of WAS, maintenance, etc..., nothing seemed to work. Update On Dogear
Tue, May 12th 2009 8:40a Chris Whisonant As many of you know, we have been having some issues with Dogear here and working with IBM. As we have upgraded, moved, and tried all kinds of different things, it appears to have been pointing to the database as the culprit. For now, I have created a new Dogear db to see if this is the problem. I have a full backup of the db from last night, and if it turns out that the DB was not the problem, then I will restore that backup. Then use it to defrag your Notes folder. After uninstalling an 8.5 Beta and installing 8.0.2 Gold, there were over 2,000 fragmented files in my Notes path! If you want to scrounge every bit of performance out of Notes, you should defrag the folder. As you've probably seen from Nathan, Tim, and Mike's blogs, things are pretty fun at Lotus 911 now preparing for Lotusphere 2008... But you'll hear more about that later. Some random thoughts? Interesting watching the SEC dominating the bowls! If LSU hangs on, then I think the SEC will be 6-1 in bowls this year. NH primary should be interesting. Will we see another Obama/Huckabee showing? This enhancement will proactively prevent the creation of memos, calendar entries, and to-dos if a mail file is at or near a certain quota threshold. In prior releases, the user would be able to begin the creation of the document and receive an error when attempting the save operation. This takes the quota enforcement a step further.
