IBM's Impact conference officially kicks off in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 29 - just twelve short days away. From the conference website:
The IBM Impact 2012 Global Conference will bring together more than 9,000 technology and business leaders at a single event for a transformative learning opportunity. Now more than ever, it is imperative that organizations learn how world-class technologies can help turn change and complexity into advantages. Industry leaders will be on-hand to provide insights on how technology can help drive better business results. Technical sessions focused on the latest IBM technologies, including WebSphere, BPM, SOA, expert integrated systems, cloud, mobile and more will be available.
This will be my first time attending Impact and I will be presenting, working on the showcase floor and participating in analyst briefings. Enterprise mobility is a top priority of today's CIO and I'm looking forward to discussing requirements and solutions.
Android for Work announced at Google IO conference
Fri, Jul 11th 2014 12:25p Christopher Pepin The initial releases of Apple iOS, Android and Windows Phone were aimed squarely at consumers and offered few if any features geared to business users. However, all that's changed in the last few years with the growth of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and Corporate Owned, Personally Enabled (COPE). Increasingly, users want to access both work and personal information from a single mobile device (AOL CEO Tim Armstong's three smartphones: Android, iOS and BlackBerry not withstanding) Jump forwar [read] Keywords: apple

Last year, Apple introduced a wealth of enterprise features in iOS 7 and iOS 8, due out this fall, didn't disappoint. With over 4,000 new API's, iOS 8 is poised to be one of the largest upgrades yet. IBM is a sponsor of the yearly event which is designed to increase awareness of math and science and foster teamwork and creative thinking. This was my fifth year participating in the event. However, due to schedule conflicts, I wasn't able to participate since 2011 and I was looking forward to this year's event. Our seven member IBM team taught nine 7th and 8th grade science classes.
