Some new Notes users, when they approach the client for the first time, are surprised that it's not possible to run a mail rule over previous,old messages.br /br /You can write a new rule but it will be applied to new messages only...br /In my opinion that feature should be standard in Notes, it would be handy.br /br /Just yesterday I downloadednbsp;a href="http://www.openntf.org/Projects/pmt.nsf/ProjectLookup/Mail%20Rule%20Utilities"Mail Rule Utilities/a, a plugin from Bob Balfe, that will install a button on the Lotus Notes toolbar and allows the users to select and run Notes mail rules (defined in the users mailbox) over a folder (usually Inbox). Great tool!br /br /div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_0-83PfcSFis/TGz66opOUsI/AAAAAAAAKHs/-nk9BOf5dxQ/s1600/mail+rule.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"img border="0" height="36" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_0-83PfcSFis/TGz66opOUsI/AAAAAAAAKHs/-nk9BOf5dxQ/s640/mail+rule.png" width="640" //a/divbr /br /div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_0-83PfcSFis/TGz6_1EeOFI/AAAAAAAAKH0/oW-XmBQuUz4/s1600/mail+rule2.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"img border="0" height="222" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_0-83PfcSFis/TGz6_1EeOFI/AAAAAAAAKH0/oW-XmBQuUz4/s400/mail+rule2.png" width="400" //a/divbr /br /br /Moreover you can read a href="http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus/library/notes8-mail/index.html"Bob's article/a about his developing of the mail plug-in.br /br /By the way, I installed the plugin on my Notes 8.5.2 beta and it works.div class="blogger-post-footer"img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/8343724548180015840-6040721436670852023?l=www.dominobaloney.com' alt='' //divimg src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Dominobaloney/~4/q7qyosbVmbk" height="1" width="1"/
Domino webmail not loading in iframe? Try this xPages coding tip...
Tue, Feb 19th 2013 10:49a Cristian D'Aloisio Some days ago a friend of mine urgently contacted me via FB (!) about a problem with his latest Domino upgrade, version 8.5.3 FP3. He had a simple xPages web app showing Domino webmail in one the pages, using the old, much-hated (but often used...), iframe technique. After the Domino upgrade, the webmail was not available anymore in IE 9, unless he hit the compatibility button in IE. Who would tell all users to do that?! :-) Before any further investigation, we had to find a quick solution:I wa [read] Keywords: domino
Austin, we have a problem :-)
Wed, Sep 19th 2012 9:47a Cristian D'Aloisio Some time ago I opened a support ticket in IBM about a really tricky issue with DAOS: a few attachments referenced in the DAOS system could not be opened by the Domino server itself (error shown both in Domino console and to the Notes user). Not all, just a few hundreds attachments. The ticket escaleted weeks after weeks, but the support group could not help me, also I had the feeling they wanted to close the ticket asap... After a while I contacted Ed Brill who was so polite to also involve I [read] Keywords: domino
Where in the world is Cris?
Wed, Sep 19th 2012 3:50a Cristian D'Aloisio Wow, I'm back to my blog after more than three months! I was rather busy because I decided to... change my life! To cut it short: me and my family decided to leave my beloved Bologna (Italy) and move to Germay, Karlsruhe town (Baden-Wurttemberg region). My wife Elly (who is is expert in the ERP subjects) had the chance to work with ABAS Software AG, a Karlsruhe-based multinational software company. So we both decided to make a big change in our life (especially for me and Kevin) and move to [read] Keywords: administration
Do your customers and partners receive a blank return receipt memos?
Fri, Jun 15th 2012 3:34a Cristian D'Aloisio Take a look to this IBM Technote # 1586180 : Blank return receipts sent to external sender We disabled the internal Domino disclaimer management (a setting in the configuration document inside the names.nsf) and reloaded the Domino router config (tell router update config). Now it works. BTW, we use the fabulous third-party product called Crossware Mail Signature to manage all signature needs: simple and effective. [read] Keywords: domino
