Announcing new XPages Webinar
David Leedy

I've teamed up with Lotus Education Online to create a new Webinar on XPages.  I call it:

XPages: Notes Development meets Web 2.0.

If you haven't seen XPages, or you are working in XPages but have yet to establish a comfort zone, then this webinar is geared for you!

I'm going to cover the What, Why's and Hows of XPages that you need to know to get started.

The session is currently scheduled twice:

Thursday October 15th at 12:00 Noon EST.
Wednesday October 21st at 7:00 pm EST.

I'm approaching this like a live version of my screencast, "Notes In Nine". So if you like that, then hopefully you'll like the webinar.

I'd like to announce that, on occasion, I'm going to break my self imposed 9ish minute rule and create longer screencasts. I'm calling these special episodes: NotesIn9: Extended Edition My first two Extended Edition shows will be the sessions that I presented at the IamLUG and MWLug conferences. Introduction to XPages You've heard about XPages now come and see how easy it is to get started. Leave behind your Navigators and Outlines and come see the X Side of the world. Wed, Aug 11th 2010 9:16a   David Leedy
In celebration of Yellow Day I have a couple a NotesIn9 announcements to make. I have a BUNCH more coming so please stay tuned in the weeks ahead. NotesIn9 is going iPad compatible! You'll soon be able to download the entire NotesIn9 collection to your iPad for offline viewing. I've finally figured out how to render my videos in screenflow so they work on the iPad. I've began the process of going back to the original files and "re-mastering" them for the iPad. I wanted to get th [read] Keywords: admin notes xpages

IamLUG Session Prep
Sun, Aug 1st 2010 5:28p   David Leedy
Tomorrow is IamLug, I'm presenting after lunch XPages: Beyond the Introduction. This is the "comfort food" session on XPages. Nothing fancy. Meat and Potatoes kind of thing. Geared for beginners getting started. It really is like having 6 NotesIn9's in 1 hour. Other then a little section on using Blueprint CSS inside XPages, this is all brand new material that I've never presented before or even screencast. I've done 3 practice sessions since I've been here and I'm coming in rig [read] Keywords: xpages css networking

NotesIn9 Live coming to IamLUG
Thu, Jul 29th 2010 6:22a   David Leedy
Next week I'll be in St. Louis for IamLUG. I'm really excited about this. Last year it was a great event and this year I'm honored to be one of the presenters. I'm presenting a session called: XPages: Beyond the Introduction I actually reused the title from a Webinar for Lotus Education Online last year, but none of this material was used in that event. I consider this an "Advanced Intro" session and thought the title fit. Most of this material is brand new and not even been used on [read] Keywords: lotus notes xpages blogSphere dojo javascript openntf server

Comcast might pay you $16 for using Lotus Notes
Fri, Jul 9th 2010 9:28a   David Leedy
Do you remember a couple of years ago when it came out that Comcast was interfering with not only P2P clients but also Lotus Notes 1532 traffic? Well I guess there was a class action suit and now people who were affected by it MIGHT be able to get $16. That's about all I know really, I saw someone tweet about this so I wanted to share it. https://p2pcongestionsettlement.com/Faqs.htm#1 [read] Keywords: lotus notes

Notes App Dev - Theres still interest out there.
Wed, Jul 7th 2010 9:51a   David Leedy
I just wanted to share what I did last evening, as it relates to some of the App Dev discussions that have been going on. In the "Day Job", I'm just a corporate Notes developer at a transportation related company. I'm not a Business Partner so I don't have a great "Feel" for what's really happening in the market other then what I hear from the Planet Lotus feed. In my little corner of the world I know that Notes is "safe" because we appreciate the ability to create custom apps to h [read] Keywords: lotus notes application applications consulting database development planet lotus
