Indexing support for Activity and Forum attachments in IBM Connections 5.5
Fri, Jun 17th 2016 12:40p   Femke Goedhart
Sometimes with large updates you miss the little things that make the difference… One I missed with the release of Connections 5.5 was that the indexing on attachments has been added for Activities & Forums now: in 5.5: “IBM Connections supports the indexing of file attachment content from the Files, Wikis, Library (Enterprise Content Manager files), Activities, and Forums applications. Content from file attachments in Blogs is not searched.” source Was: “IBM Connecti

Launch of ConnectionsExpert, getting insight into your social platform
Tue, Jun 7th 2016 3:04p   Femke Goedhart
I’ve only joined panagenda for a month now but I couldn’t have chosen a better time. With the launch of ConnectionsExpert (which was launched yesterday at Social Connections in Toronto), panagenda is taking a big new step into the world of building insights into the going on’s of your IBM Connections platform. With real time user simulations, analytics, historical monitoring and visually strong graphics of activity and interaction. panagenda isn’t new to this area. Tradit

Whirlwind, great teams and learning German or is it Austrian?!?
Fri, Jun 3rd 2016 5:49p   Femke Goedhart
So one month into working with panangenda and the evening before flying out to Toronto for another exciting Social Connections event it is time for a little reflection on what has all happened this month. To be honest, it has been a whirlwind. Of impressions, of meeting new people, of learning LOADS of new stuff, of getting really excited about the new product which is going to be launched next Monday (at Social Connections :)) and of getting my feet back on the ground. Sometimes in life you nee

A new phase – I’m joining panagenda!
Fri, Apr 29th 2016 12:37p   Femke Goedhart
As many of you know I’ve been working for several years as a business consultant in the area of Social business, Collaboration and Document Management. However earlier this year I decided that I wanted to expand both my knowledge as well as my international reach beyond what I had been doing so far and decided to open up the door for new opportunities. It didn’t take long for an opportunity to show itself and I am happy to report that I will be joining the team at panagenda starting May 2nd.

Salesforce & IBM Connections integration – keeping your organization connected
Mon, Feb 1st 2016 3:57p   Femke Goedhart
With so many solutions touting social capabilities out there and being used for different situations it can be daunting to decide on when to use what and why. Your organization might already have Salesforce, IBM Connections, Sharepoint and solutions like Jira that offer social capabilities but how do you get all these worlds together? The last thing you want after all is to have one department ‘being social’ in one platform and another somewhere else. That completely undermines the w

Webcast Dec 1st: Positioning IBM Connections & Document management
Fri, Nov 20th 2015 10:59a   Femke Goedhart
Quite often people ask me how they should position and integrate a Social Enterprise Network like IBM Connections in an existing landscape of applications and strategies for managing information and documents. Often they already have several tools, intranets, and applications and want to know what things to consider, how and when to migrate and how to get users to make the transition into using the new platform without getting confused. Or they might be totally new to the concept of working with

busy weeks! Zurich & Stuttgart

It has been a busy month all over but the last two weeks have been extremely busy. Both with a major project at a customer going live this weekend as well as with two conferences last week and this week. I had a great day on October 28th at the IBM Client center for SNoUG the Swiss Notes User Group and congratulate the SNoUG team on their effort of setting up a fantastic event. I really enjoyed it and found the sessions, connections I made and information I got from the sponsor booths extremely

After not having traveled much over the last few months it is promising to shape up to be quite a busy fall this year! 21st/22nd of September – London: In little over a week I will be attending ICON UK, the UK user group for IBM software users where I will be co-hosting a session with ICON UK organizer Tim Clark on the art of requirements gathering as well as doing a session on my own about file & document management in IBM Connections. Bringing your IBM Connections files to the user – desktop integration
Tue, Jul 28th 2015 7:18p   Femke Goedhart
As someone whit a special interest in both document management and social business anything that touches the both of them and improves the user experience of file management is of special interest to me. Today was a great day for me in that respect as I got to see/try out some really good new features that help user work with their files in IBM Connections. IBM Desktop & MS Office Connectors IBM Connections as a platform is often host to many files. Files can be stored in communities, perso
