Guests for the week: Joyce Davis Iâm community manager for IBM in the Collaboration Solutions or âLotusâ division. Iâve âbled yellowâ since 1983 when I used Lotus 1-2-3 version 1A for DOS to manage the WW Technical Education course schedule as an IBM co-op. (I was an infant, of course.) I joined Lotus fulltime in 1993. I have a degree from Univ. of Texas in Sociology. All those who questioned the value of my degree can now SUCK IT thanks to the social business movement! :-) Iâve worked in MANY different roles at IBM over the last 18 years including technical support, people management, project management, communications, program management and now community management. Iâm a mom, wife, flutist, Apple fangirl, and social network addict. Although I wasnât born in Austin, I got here as fast as I could about 35 years ago. (I figure rather than go into detail on my job role, Iâll just answer that when you ask me about it.) Cianna Stewart (please insert your bio here) Cianna has created communities offline and online for politics, health, dance and business. She has been playing with various online tools to build communities since the mid-1990s. Sheâs combining this with her background in viral and social marketing in her current roles designing social media campaigns for large brands. Sheâs also an entrepreneur and is excited about all the new tools available online to connect people and what they love. She is constantly curious about life and all the people who live it - and is always getting involved in new projects. Deborah Reale Deborah Reale has twenty years of experience in Business Management developing strategies covering the construction, retail, food & beverage and public relations industries. Deborah, Reed Construction Data has been a leader in using social media to reach out. Can you tell us a bit about your strategy? How did you choose the platforms? How are you evaluating your efforts? Which social media tools do you think provide the most value in helping you discover new projects/gain new clients?
B. I attended a party recently and many people there were talking about turning off their cable or satellite TV and replacing it with Netflix, etc. Is this a growing trend? Is TV as we know it going away?
II. News Cianna - thoughts from SXSW? __________________________________________________________________ Guests: please list your contact info and details on something you want to promote (event, client website, etc) Joyce Davis
