IBM Connections; future or passing fad
Mon, Jan 28th 2013 2:13p John Coolidge I want to get everyone's opinion on this. I am not saying that I believe either way. I am pursuing becoming a connections developer.
But I talk to clients, peers, and friends about connections and I do not get a warm fuzzy feeling about it, especially in the SMB market. Cost, implementation and user adoption are the main concerns.
Some quotes I have heard:

Native data on your mobile device?
Fri, Oct 7th 2011 10:09a John Coolidge How important is it to have your notes data on your phone/tablet?
We all know about working offline with Notes databases but does having native data on your device vs. a web app really make a difference?
There are some areas where it is hard to get a good signal, parts of New York City for example. All those big buildings are great at blocking access to cells.
If you have a mobile strategy, [read] Keywords: notes

Strange uiworkspace.prompt behavior
Mon, Jul 25th 2011 6:10p John Coolidge Has anyone seen this before? I was testing an agent in DDE 8.5.2 and got strange results from my prompt.
If I use the run option on the agent in DDE the return value is "","","".
If I run the same code from the db in the notes client 8.5.2 I get the expected results, "Servername"."DB","Title"
I tested this in a few different databases and got the same results.
There goes 3 hours i can never [read] Keywords: agent

13 Years later, I found my code
Fri, Feb 25th 2011 10:19a John Coolidge I was at a client this past week and they showed my how they were integrating Lotus notes and their MS exchange mail. I told them that I had wrote some code to do this years ago and had posted it in the sandbox. The client said "I downloaded this code from the sandbox". They were creating tasks and calendar entries in the ui then saving them to Outlook.
He showed me the db and wouldn't you know [read] Keywords: lotus
