Notes and Domino 8.5 is released
Tue, Jan 6th 2009 12:59a   Kai Benjaminsen
Mary Beth Raven made a post on Notes Design Blog that Domino 8.5 was available for download January 6th, so I headed over to the Passport Advantage site to check if I was able to download it right away. But then I discovered that I was unable to download Notes and Domino at all.... All I could get was this: Now I gotta check later on today to see if this still is a problem, or if it's just a temporary situation. It would be a disaster if I cannot download Notes and Domino versions any [read] Keywords: domino notes

Typealyzer/Briggs Myers Type Indicator/Jungian Type Index - are they correct at all?
Mon, Nov 24th 2008 5:52a   Kai Benjaminsen
This morning I found the Typealyzer site where I can enter the address of my blog, and see what kind of person I am based on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. What was the result? According to this "test" I am a ESTJ person. Where ESTJ stands for Extraversion, Sensing, Thinking, Judging. Is this correct? Not quite, but pretty close. Some years ago I took a similar test based on the Jungian Type Index, which is almost the same as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. The result? ISTJ, where ISTJ stan [read] Keywords: wiki

IBM Software Day
Wed, Nov 19th 2008 5:51a   Kai Benjaminsen
Yesterday I attended IBM Software Day 2008 in Oslo. It was the 8th time this arrangement was taking place, and my third consecutive year attending. But now I start wondering if this arrangement is jinxed for my attendance. The first year I got a flu and high fever that day, and had to go home early. Last year we had some servers going down, and needed immediate attention. And now the same thing happened. The program of Sofware Day was exciting, and I really looked forward to some of the sessio [read] Keywords: ibm lotus

DME Partner Training and Certification Test
Tue, Oct 21st 2008 3:52a   Kai Benjaminsen
In the end of September I went to Denmark for DME Partner Training. 3 days with two tech sales guys, trying to learn us something about DME Sync. At the partner training, there were 8 participants, myself included. A colleague of mine were also attending, so we had time to discuss issues and tasks presented. The training itself was somewhat basic, but it was good to get a review of all features and possibilities. Startet preparing the meat for a pre-Christmas dinner and Christmas Eve dinner today, pinnekjøtt. Went to the grocery store and bought 4 ribs of lamb. When Ubuntu 8.04 was released I read that you could install Ubuntu on a computer which already ran Windows. Got off the plane, got my suitcase and went for buying train tickets. No trains due to a fatality. Hmmm... this is not good. I wonder what has happened. Wed, Jul 16th 2008 1:18a   Kai Benjaminsen
When you register a new certifier in your Domino directory, you can choose to set an address for which a user can send a certification update request when the certifiate is about to expire. I have seen domains where this address is changed after creating the certifiate, and spent some time finding out how to change this. The solution is quite easy, and you say 'Of course, it had to be there', but this is not necessarily the thing you think about. Here we go. Accessing a server from remote using mstsc

However, I haven't been responsible for the local mailservers, just the backbone of the domain. My client is always on the latest release (Notes 8.0.1 at the moment, I didn't want to use the 8.5 Beta 1 in production), and my mailfile is based on the latest template from OpenNTF Mail Experience 8.0.1.
