Development of a new version of Lialis WebDAV takes months, depending on the new features we are adding. Testing takes several weeks as well (two test consultants full time). We have to test each function for WebDAV running on Domino, Tomcat and WebSphere for Quickr, Lotus Notes and IBM Connections. This must be done for several apps like Goodreader, Bitkinex, Notability and so on. We are talking about a few thousand test steps. If you’ve been watching the news lately, then you’ll appreciate how quickly things turn sour… when information that’s not supposed to be public, suddenly becomes public. The White House is spitting blood. They were caught with their pants down — in the spotlight of the world. And now their secrets are out, officials in the EU, and other countries like China, are outraged. This is what happens, when sensitive information is leaked. How we have build Lialis WebDAV Cloud
Thu, Jul 18th 2013 4:15p   Kim van den Berg
Introduction A few years ago we started building WebDAV on Domino server because Connections was small and Quickr was bigger. WebDAV is coded in Java thanks to Domino, so its relatively easy to get the Java program to run on a Java server like Tomcat. We needed to replace the Domino features like logging and settings (which used Notes databases) with XML files because a Tomcat server does not understand a Notes database. I could never deliver a WebDAV cloud SaaS when WebDAV runs on Domino [read] Keywords: connections domino ibm lotus notes quickr applications blogger community database email google java linux mobile security server xml

Product references are important
Wed, Sep 12th 2012 6:10a   Kim van den Berg
If you want to buy a product, what makes you go over the edge and actually buy the product? Positive references of other people! When you start reading the references, you've already decided that you want the product and that the price is fair. You only need a last push to make the actual decision. Positive references can even make people decide to buy a product that is too expensive or from a supplier that is more expensive than a supplier with less or less positive references.
