Okay, now you know what live text is and does, let’s get your first widget up and running. The first step is to enable the widget toolbar and sidebar panel. Go to File, Preferences… Widgets, and click the option for ‘Show Widget Toolbar and the My Widgets Sidebar panel’. Don’t worry about the other options for now.

Wikipedia describes feeds as “used to publish frequently updated works – such as blog entries, news headlines, audio, and video – in a standardized format”. Ghosted invites

Among the numerous improvements to the Notes calendar in version 8 was this one. Very simply, new invites show up on the surface of the calendar in the place that the meeting will sit should you accept it. Ghosted invites, as we call them, display in grey but will change to their true colour (light blue by default) once accepted.

Calendar actions in the preview pane

This is one of those features which you could describe as minor, but it shows an attention to detail and that IBM Lotus are dedicated to delivering continual improvements to users.

Sametime integration

IBM Lotus Sametime offers presence awareness, instant messaging, web conferencing, support for mobile devices, Voice over IP, video, telephony integration, and a whole lot more. But let’s go back to basics.

Doclinks
Wed, Nov 3rd 2010 7:47p Darren I’m pretty sure that doclinks have been in Notes since the first day I used it back in 1991 (version 2.0a – I was a very young man, just out of junior school).
A doclink is a link to a Notes document – click on a doclink which appears in an e-mail, calendar appointment or document of any type and it will navigate you straight to the linked document. Adding a web search engine to the search bar

Drag a message into an EML file

Recipient marking

Sender colours
