Domino file locking issue

Occasionally we get NSF files locked on clustered Domino servers and this results in an error like the one below when attempting to access them. Database Fixup: Unable to fixup database d:Dominodatamailjayz.nsf: This database is currently in use by another person or process, and cannot be accessed at this time. In order to share a Notes database, it mvia a Domino Server by all users of the database. This looks like a non-Domino process has a lock on the file but is actually the Cluster Repl

Traveler and Samsung Galaxy fingerprint lock
Fri, Jan 15th 2016 9:48a   Paul Farris
One of the cool features of new smartphone are that some of them have integrated fingerprint sensors which can be used to secure the device. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 handset and this allows you to easily unlock the screen by swiping the home button. It stopped accepting valid AD credentials and there were no "local" BAS user accounts configured with Administrator access. The following T-SQL script executed against the BESMgmt database in SSMS will reset the BAS "admin" user password to "blackberry". It will also create the "admin" user if one cannot already be found in the table BASUsers. DECLARE

Traveler password not accepted
Fri, Aug 14th 2015 8:54a   Paul Farris
User cannot sync email in Traveler due to password error. This was caused by the user changing their Notes password to one which Resolution Check user can log into Webmail using that password. Check user has not used certain special characters in their password (for example a £ character). Reset Internet password in Address Book without affected characters. Issue possibly affected many non-standard special characters used by non-US users.
