Red Pill Now is pleased to announce that it has expanded its team of software consultants with the addition of  Devin Olson. Devin is well known to many in the community as an IBM Champion 2016, global presenter, and/or brewer of fine ales. For the past 18 months Red Pill Now has focused its efforts on securing talent from outside the Notes community as we broaden our experience with Design and Web Component development. Devin will be the first “Notes” person joining Red Pill Now since the company was first formed by four IBM Champions – Nathan Freeman, Tim Tripcony, Keith Strickland and myself back in 2012.

We are pleased to have had the chance to add Devin to this team after , where he was part of perhaps the best known (customer) team of Notes developers at Czarnowski that that also included Declan Lynch, David Leedy, and Mike McGarrel. With Czarnowksi moving away from Notes/Domino it was seen as a win-win-win scenario for all concerned. Devin brings considerable experience with Notes client development, Java development, and Web development. So keep an eye out for Devin in a nice bright red shirt!

You wouldn’t have liked the blue pill anyway Devin!

Red Pill Now @ MWLUG 2017
Fri, Aug 18th 2017 6:11a   Peter Presnell
As a CEO of an IBM Business Partner there is always a positive feeling that comes when being able to support a User Group event such as MWLUG. Its a chance to give back to a community that has helped us all in our earlier careers. It’s a chance to not only finance these events so that the cost to attend is modest, but also a chance to be part of an ongoing conversation about our community and to share some of expertise with others following in our footsteps. This year we had our largest co

What We Learned at MWLUG 2017
Wed, Aug 16th 2017 8:02p   Peter Presnell
Richard Moy and team put together another great User Group event in Alexandria, VA last week. Its an event that falls half-way between the annual event once known as LotusSphere. This year’s event set a new attendance record, including a large contingent of IBMers allowing all to get the latest information and news for all things Collaboration (ICS). The following are the key take aways that I noticed as a former Notes developer still passionate about finding future paths for Notes data.

MWLUG – The Perfect event at the Perfect time
Fri, Jul 28th 2017 8:07p   Peter Presnell
For CIOs who oversee an active portfolio of Notes/Domino applications it is now clear they have a need to develop a strategy to transform their investment. IBM is moving on from the platform that has served many of us well for 28 years. The path forward has been less than clear. There has long been a hope that a magic button would appear capable of taking an aging collection of Notes applications and make them relevant in 2017. A quick simple solution does not exist and CIOs must chose between t

What We Learned at Engage
Fri, May 12th 2017 6:54p   Peter Presnell
Being one of the major events in the ICS community, Engage provides a chance for IBM, Customers and Business Partners  to get updates on the platform and exchange thoughts and views about what the future holds. This year’s event was no exception. Business Partners During the OGS we heard IBM outline how important business partners were to its success. And then a few minutes later under the pressure of time they decide the best way to catch up was to cut the Business Partner presentations

Let’s Talk About Better Designed Apps at Engage 2017

I can’t think of a more appropriate place than Antwerp, Belgium to discuss design thinking, user experience, and UI design. For those of you who have not had the opportunity to visit Antwerp, the city is safe, the architecture designed to be beautiful and functional, built on a historically reliable foundation, and connected by an infrastructure that works — further adding to the beauty that is this city. This is a nearly perfect analogy for how we at Red Pill Now, and what we are wo

Taking The Red Pill @Engage2017
Mon, May 8th 2017 5:12a   Peter Presnell
Red Pill Now is pleased it will again be represented at Engage. This year’s event is being held in Antwerp, Belgium May 8-9. This will be the third year. Without doubt this is one of the best User Groups for IBM Collaboration Software.. Organizer Theo Hesslmans does an amazing job, and usually finds some way to make each event even better than the one before. So we look forward to see what Theo and his amazing team have planned for this year. Last year we had four people from Red Pill Now

IoT The Next Big Thing For Application Development?
Wed, May 3rd 2017 6:35a   Peter Presnell
I consider myself fortunate that my career has coincided with the rise of the computer as a business tool. Over that time I have seen a series of break-out technologies that have significantly changed the way computers have not only solved business needs but also transformed that way businesses can work. Each new technology has driven innovation and business opportunities. Technology companies such as Apple, CISCO, Microsoft, Amazon, and FaceBook have all shot to prominence catering to these new

Our Views On Connect 2017
Tue, Feb 28th 2017 7:21p   Peter Presnell
Last week Devin Olson and myself had the chance to attend IBM Connect 2017 in San Francisco. It was a new venue in a new location combining some of the traditions of the past along with a few things new and different. I had the chance to hear IBM’s message, discuss the events with a number of the people who attended as well as share ideas internally with the team at Red Pill Now. The following is a summary of my thoughts from this year’s event. Application Modernization After having
