Building an airport - Episode 8 - YouTube
Tue, Jun 24th 2014 5:10a Warren Elsmore Yes, it's finally here... Sorry for the very long wait but it's been a really busy year. A Really, REALLY busy year! Anyway, here we are - episode 8, the final episode, of how to build an airport. I hope you've enjoyed keeping track of these over the last few months and it's inspired you to have a go at building something yourself. Now the only question left is "what next?" ;-) [read] Keywords:

I've not used this route since my first visit to LEGOLand (I was 8) due to the cost. £767 to take the van to Denmark via this route. ONE WAY. Wed, Mar 26th 2014 7:10a Warren Elsmore We don't often do reviews, but the kind people at A Place for Everything were good enough to send us a storage brick, so I asked Kitty to review it; The LEGO MOVIE Storage bricks are a great addition to the LEGO Storage Bricks range. How did I build round(ish) columns in St Pancras? Well, it's not actually that complicated when you know how. But there are two techniques to know about. The first is the plate to brick ratio. Simply put, 5 plates = 2 studs. So, a stack of 5 plates put sideways is the same height as 2 bricks. The second is that many of LEGO's SNOT* pieces have the studs at the top of the brick. An unusual delivery
Tue, Aug 28th 2012 2:40p Warren Elsmore So, by now, you'll hopefully know that I spent all of the Olympics in London. Not working for the IOC or LOCOG or watching any sport, but working at the Danish hospitality house, 'IMAGINATION', with a pretty large display of the Olympic Park. Piccies here if you didn't. Anyway, I returned home late on Monday night a couple of weeks ago to an email. Literally returned home - I sat on the sofa, wondered why my phone was buzzing at me and opened an email. It was from the GB Paralympic team, [read] Keywords: email

Wed, Aug 8th 2012 7:23a Warren Elsmore Well, almost! Only 5 days to go of the 19 days I've been in London so we must be nearly finished, right? It's been a long few weeks here in St Katherine Docks. Rewarding certainly, but for those of you that have manned a sponsor stand before - imagine a 19 day show of 12hr days. With half your audience as children. Actually, as hellish as I might have made that sound, the real difference here is that every 5 minutes someone screams 'wow!' or 'cool' or just stands there with their mout [read] Keywords:

Working the Olympics
Sat, Jul 28th 2012 1:54p Warren Elsmore There are thousands of people working in London over the next few weeks. Not the usual commuters, perhaps, but thousands of volunteers and event staff working all over the city.In case you hadn't guessed, for the next 15 days I'll be one of them. Working in the Danish 'House', I'm presenting the best of Denmark to the public. LEGO, of course ;-)The really special thing for me is that here, working and living amongst 50-odd Danes, I'm pretty much the only Brit. So watching the opening [read] Keywords:

Mon, Feb 28th 2011 5:00a Warren Elsmore There, I said it. Read the following and
tell me it doesn't.
I have a shared database, that myself
and a few others are going to review some things in. It has commenting
and fields and all sorts of stuff. Good.
I have 500 entries I need to import,
that are in an Excel 2007 spreadsheet. Reviewing in Notes will be much
better than a collaborative document.
I shall import them to Notes. Oh, except
Notes won't import Excel files.
Export to CSV - nope, that doesn't work

UKLUG 2011 - IMPORTANT - CHANGE OF DATES
Fri, Dec 17th 2010 10:30a Warren Elsmore At the end of ILUG last month, we announced
the dates for UKLUG 2011 in Manchester. I've now a very important announcement
that we have had to change the dates to:
23rd - 24th May, 2011
We'll still be at the same venue in
Manchester, but just slightly later. After announcing the dates for UKLUG,
we've realised that our dates clashed with at least two other major IT
conferences. Unfortunately, that gave us real problems not only in terms
of sponsors - but also finding enough ' [read] Keywords: ilug

Announcing another conference for 2011 - A LEGO conference!
Tue, Nov 16th 2010 9:00a Warren Elsmore This one was announced a few weeks back,
but I didn't want to blog it until we'd also announced UKLUG
too! I had a conversation with a few LEGO employees and ex-employees all
the way back in February. If you came to my session at ILUG, you'll know
that there is a strong community of Adult Fans of LEGO (AFOL) around the
world. In fact, over in the US there are even a few very well attended
conventions for AFOLs.
Well, chatting with my friends about
the Lotus community and what we d [read] Keywords: ilug
