It's not there for long, but if you're in Edinburgh right now my Christmas window is still visible on South Bridge in Blackwells bookshop until Christmas Eve. If not, sit back, enjoy the video and Merry Christmas! Warren

BRICK 2014 in 4 minutes
Sat, Dec 6th 2014 9:03a   Warren Elsmore
It's been a bit busy here in the studio. Not least due to BRICK 2014 which happened last weekend. Just in case you didn't have time to be there for all 8 days (but thanks to those that did!), here it is - in 4 minutes...

The Forth Road Bridge - in LEGO bricks!
Mon, Aug 25th 2014 6:33a   Warren Elsmore
This morning, I've been based in the National Museum of Scotland, unveiling this - the Forth Road Bridge: We've been working on this one for a while! To celebrate the bridge's 50th birthday there are a host of activities going on as part of the Forth Bridges Festival - this being just a little part of it. The bridge is possibly one of the most technical models that I've ever created. Not least because it has to look right - it will be 'inspected'

Adult night at the Manchester LEGOLAND Discovery Centre
Tue, Aug 12th 2014 8:20a   Warren Elsmore
No, not that sort of adult night! If you weren't aware, the LDC in Manchester doesn't usually accept unaccompanied adults - ie, those without kids. But, they've let me know that for one night they are! Details below. Sadly, I can't make it but if you've not been and would like to see the Manchester miniland, then this is a great opportunity! Adult Fans of LEGO® Night at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester 3rd September 2014 7:00 pm - 9:00 pmHave you wanted to visit the LEGOLAND® Discove

Building an airport - Episode 8 - YouTube
Tue, Jun 24th 2014 5:10a   Warren Elsmore
Yes, it's finally here... Sorry for the very long wait but it's been a really busy year. A Really, REALLY busy year! Anyway, here we are - episode 8, the final episode, of how to build an airport. I hope you've enjoyed keeping track of these over the last few months and it's inspired you to have a go at building something yourself. Now the only question left is "what next?" ;-)

J.K Rowling explains why she is supporting the Better Together campaign (politics again)
Wed, Jun 11th 2014 8:20a   Warren Elsmore
I don't think I could have put it better myself. I have exactly the same concerns about the lack of verifiable facts and, well, I personally just think it's the wrong thing to do.J. K Rowlings' Full statement here.PLEASE read it through if you live in Scotland as even if you don't agree with her stance - there are important questions to be answered. The only way in which my views differ from hers is what might happen if Scotland did vote yes. With my company registered in England and the majo

Dander Supporters update - day 3
Wed, Jun 4th 2014 7:03a   Warren Elsmore
Well, it's day 3 of the Dander support now. I may break out the camera this afternoon again ;-)A quick update on where we are though. Here's a quick map from trackme, which is tracking the support van - not the walkers: Why the van? Well, this is set to update about once a minute. See the long straight lines? Well, the roads aren't that good - it's just the poor reception we're getting uploading the data. Not just bad phone signals (lots of them),

This week we shall be 'Dandering for Dosh' - give us your money!
Tue, Jun 3rd 2014 6:50a   Warren Elsmore
This week, Kitty and I are in the far west coast of wales - supporting 6 good friends of our on a walk for the charity Medecin Sans Frontiers. It's a big challenge - 100 miles in 5 days! So of course, we're brought the van with us to support them. This will explain the challenge ahead: Expect lots of 'dandering' (British slang for walking) updates this week. And if you enjoy them, then PLEASE DONATE!

LEGO Multistud Watch review
Sat, May 24th 2014 2:00p   Warren Elsmore
I've had my eyes on one of these for a long while, though never got around to really doing anything about it... However, with full disclosure, the very kind people at Clictime unexpectedly asked me if I would like one to wear! There haven't asked me to do anything other than give them a little feedback on it, so I thought what better way than do that than a review? The box Gorgeous or what? OK, unboxing videos are usually fairly unin

Closure of the Harwich-Esbjerg ferry route - DFDSGroup.com
Thu, May 1st 2014 4:10a   Warren Elsmore
AFOLS and UK LEGO fans be aware... (the route closes just after the LEGO Fan Weekend - the Tuesday in fact). I can't say I'm hugely surprised... I've not used this route since my first visit to LEGOLand (I was 8) due to the cost. £767 to take the van to Denmark via this route. ONE WAY. It's sadly cheaper and far more convenient to drive via the tunnel - even with a hotel night thrown in on the way.

Product Review – LEGO MOVIE Storage Brick, extra small, orange.
Wed, Mar 26th 2014 7:10a   Warren Elsmore
We don't often do reviews, but the kind people at A Place for Everything were good enough to send us a storage brick, so I asked Kitty to review it; The LEGO MOVIE Storage bricks are a great addition to the LEGO Storage Bricks range. They give us some new colours; my personal favourite is Emmet’s signature Orange, which adds nicely to the rainbow now available. Their construction is sturdy, the ridges on the interior wall and the finger-grips make them very easy open and close. They also us

Bye-bye Betsy... Hello Mia! (and a competition too)

For the last few years, we've had a dedicated member of team UKLUG, team LEGOShoe and Team WarrenElsmore.com. And now she's... well.. dead. Betsy Belville, on location in Denmark Betsy Belville (named posthumously in honour of her services to LEGO fandom) was on a routine trip to our warehouse a couple of weeks ago when, to add to the dodgy starter motor, spark plug, heating fan, windscreen wiper, front shocks, leaky radiator, loose f
